Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Candles

Here we answer some of the most common questions so you can enjoy your Danna Velas y Aromas candle to the fullest:

What care should I take with my candle?

To ensure optimal and safe combustion, we recommend following these simple steps:

  • Trim the wick: Before each lighting, make sure the wick is about 0.5 cm long. A wick that is too long can cause a large flame and soot.
  • Safe Surface: Always place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, flammable objects, children, and pets.
  • Safe Extinguishing: Use a candle snuffer or dip the wick into the melted wax with tongs to prevent excessive smoke.

How long should I keep the candle lit the first time?

The first time you light your candle, it's crucial to let it burn long enough for the entire surface of the wax to melt and form a liquid "pool" up to the edges of the container. This typically takes between 2 and 4 hours , depending on the size of the candle.

What happens if I don't leave it lit for 4 hours the first time? Does the candle create a tunnel?

If you don't allow the wax to completely melt to the edges on the first burn, your candle is likely to develop what's known as "tunneling." This means the wax will burn only in the center, leaving unmelted wax at the edges of the container. Once this happens, it's difficult to correct and will reduce the lifespan of your candle , while also preventing it from releasing its scent effectively.

How long can I keep my candle lit?

After the first lighting, we recommend not leaving your candle lit for more than 4 continuous hours . If you want to continue enjoying its aroma, extinguish it, let the wax solidify completely (approximately 2 hours), and then trim the wick before relighting it. This helps maintain the quality of the burn and the longevity of your candle.

We hope these tips help you fully enjoy the Danna experience. Do you have any other questions?
